What We Help With
Golden Memorial is a licensed Illinois insurance agency working with families on final expense and burial insurance — from the first question to the claim being paid.
Final expense & burial insurance
Final expense insurance is a small whole life policy, commonly written between $5,000 and $35,000, meant to cover the costs that land on your family after a death: funeral home services, burial or cremation, cemetery costs, final medical bills and small debts. It is different from term life insurance — it does not expire after a set number of years, and the death benefit does not decrease as long as premiums are paid.
We help you work out how much coverage actually makes sense for your situation, then explain how the plan works in plain language before anything is signed.
How we help
Service
Final expense plan review
A no-cost, no-obligation review of the coverage you have now — or of what's available to you if you have none. We look at face amount, premium, waiting period and beneficiary setup, and tell you plainly where the gaps are.
- No cost, no obligation
- Licensed Illinois agent
- Your information stays private
Service
Lincoln Heritage Funeral Advantage

- Protection levels from $5,000 up
- No medical exam typically required
- Premiums guaranteed level for life
Service
Plan comparison
If you're weighing more than one option — a Funeral Advantage plan against another carrier's burial policy, or a graded plan against a level plan — we put them side by side on the things that matter: cost, waiting period, benefit amount and what happens at claim time.
Service
Beneficiary guidance
Who you name as beneficiary, and how you name them, decides how smoothly the claim is paid. We help you set it up correctly — spouse, children, a trust or a funeral home directly — and explain how to change it later.
Service
Application & claim support
We help with the one-page application and the health questions, and we stay reachable after the policy is issued. When the time comes, we help your family with the paperwork the carrier needs.
Service
Coverage for a parent or spouse
You can own and pay for a policy on someone else's life with their consent. This is one of the most common ways adult children protect a parent — we'll structure it so there's no confusion at claim time.
Lincoln Heritage Funeral Advantage — how the plans compare
| Level | Typical face amount | Who it tends to suit |
| Good | $15,000 | Cremation or a simple service, with room for a small buffer. |
| Better | $18,000 | A full traditional funeral with a small allowance for final bills. |
| Best | $20,000 | Funeral, cemetery costs and a small legacy gift to family. |
A custom face amount between roughly $5,000 and $50,000 may also be available. Face amounts shown are illustrative levels, not a quote; the carrier confirms what you're eligible for. Coverage is subject to state availability, eligibility and carrier approval.
What a review covers
- How much coverage fits. Real Illinois funeral costs, so you're not buying more or less than you need.
- Whether a medical exam is needed. Most final expense plans require no medical exam — just a short list of health questions on a one-page application.
- Waiting periods and graded benefits. Some plans pay a reduced benefit, or return of premiums plus interest, if death from natural causes happens in the first couple of years. We tell you which plans carry that and which don't.
- Whether premiums can change. On Lincoln Heritage Funeral Advantage, premiums are guaranteed level for life. The amount you pay on day one is the amount you pay thereafter.
- Who gets the money and when. Beneficiary designation, percentages and how the claim is filed.
- What's already in place. An existing policy, a burial fund, a prepaid funeral plan or employer coverage — so you're not paying twice for the same thing.

What we won't tell you
We don't promise approval, and we don't promise savings. Eligibility and the final rate are decided by the insurance carrier's underwriting, based on your answers on the application and your state's rules. Any premium figure we discuss is an illustration for a specific age, health profile and coverage amount — not a guaranteed fact until the carrier issues the policy. If a plan isn't right for you, we'll say so.
